National Center for PTSD

The National Center for PTSD, housed within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, works to "improve the care of Veterans and others affected by trauma through its strong commitment to research on the prevention, causes, assessment, and treatment of traumatic stress disorders." As a center of excellence for research and education of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), this website provides information for veterans, their friends and family, and healthcare providers on the disorder and its treatment. On the left panel of the website, users can navigate to different web pages and topics including:

  • Understand PTSD
  • Understand PTSD Treatment
  • Get Help
  • Apps, Videos and More
  • Article Database: PTSDpubs
  • Clinical Trials Database

Although the National Center for PTSD is part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, not all of the literature is limited to veterans.
