Benefits and Costs of Accommodation

The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) has surveyed employers since 2004 related to providing workplace accommodations for people with disabilities. This resource lists and describes the findings of the survey. The survey results have shown the benefits these employers reported receiving from making workplace accommodations. Employers reported providing accommodations that resulted in such benefits as retaining valuable employees, improving productivity and morale, reducing workers’ compensation and training costs, and improving company diversity.
