Including Students with Disabilities in CS Education

In this video from DO-IT, Richard E. Ladner discusses barriers to computer science (CS) education for students with disabilities and practices to make CS education more accessible. Ladner explores demographics on disabilities in the United States, the number of students with disabilities taking CS courses, case studies of students with disabilities and their experiences with CS courses, assistive technologies needed for computer access, access tools, ways to design computer programs to be more accessible, AccessCSforAll's curricula and tools, and professional development. The strategies presented in the webinar can be used in both pre-service and in-service CS education programs to supplement other diversity, equity, and inclusion parts of these programs. The video recording runs 1:00:19 minutes in length.
