It has been 21 years since the term Employment First was first used. Now that Employment First is fully an adult, it’s a good time to take a look at the history of the Employment First movement, its impact to date, and where we go from here. Among topics discussed will be ensuring that Employment First is more than just a policy, and how it should be reflected in the day-to-day actions of direct service staff, administrators, and most importantly in the lives of people with disabilities. This webinar will also discuss what it means to truly be an Employment First organization. The session will also feature a discussion of the role of Employment First in advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and the changes needed as Employment First evolves to ensure it is fully reflective of EDI.
