Supporting Careers Goals of Individuals with Multiple Barriers to Employment

This presentation focuses on securing employment opportunities for people with disabilities across a broad range of community settings and employment barriers. Strategies for including all people with disabilities in the workforce will be shared, including customized employment methods. Special consideration will be given to individuals experiencing multiple barriers to employment including housing insecurity and justice system involvement. Strategies for identifying and supporting employment in a career that matches the individual’s skills, goals, and dreams will be discussed with attendees. Personal experiences of jobseekers with disabilities will be highlighted.

  • understand the intersectionality of job seekers with disabilities, justice involvement, and homelessness.
