Top Ten Things Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students Would Like Teachers to Do

This resource provides a list of ten strategies that deaf and hard-of-hearing students would like teachers to use in the classroom to improve access to learning. The following are examples of the strategies included: don't use words like "this" and "that" as referents in the class or lab, treat all students equally, have a positive/flexible attitude, allow deaf students to have access to the first few rows in class on the first day, have PowerPoint and lecture notes available to the students before class, and more. Each strategy includes a short paragraph that provides further detail.
