National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM)

NCAM, a part of Boston public broadcaster WGBH, is a research and development facility dedicated to addressing barriers to media and emerging technologies for people with disabilities in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. NCAM builds on WGBH's pioneering history in technologies and services that make media accessible for people with disabilities including inventing captioning for television and extending access to television to the blind or visually impaired via the Descriptive Video Service (DVS).
