UDL & the Learning Brain

This three-page article from CAST discusses Universal Design Learning and the Learning Brain. Cognitive neuroscience research on how the brain functions informs UDL framework, which emphasizes the variability in brain structure and learning patterns. This framework acknowledges high variability in engagement (the why of learning), representation (the what of learning), and action and expression (the how of learning). This article further discusses the UDL and the learning brain to inform educators of ways to bring these principles into the classroom and make their curriculum more inclusive to all learners.
