Improving Student Access: A Project Access E-Workshop
This workshop from DeafTEC provides three modules for instructors about improving access in the classroom for Deaf/HH students. The following modules are included: The First Day, Interpreting, and Pace. The First Day module provides a list of best practices, as well as two videos, one which explores teaching and the other communication best practices. The interpreting module explores the role of an interpreter, interpreters' code of conduct, strategies for partnering with interpreters, and a video on interpreters. The pace module explores issues with lecture speed, including strategies on improving the pace of courses, as well as five videos that highlight perspectives on pace. These videos include details about misconceptions about Deaf/HH students, perspectives from students, communication strategies, and more.
