COVID-19 Outcomes Among People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a large and heterogeneous health disparities population, may have the risk of more severe COVID-19 outcomes due to: 1) co-occurring health conditions; 2) a disproportionate percentage of the population living in a congregate setting; and 3) the possibility of discriminatory policies and practices regarding access to COVID-19 related resources and care. This webinar will discuss emerging empirical studies that confirm this increased risk, demonstrating higher case rates and case-fatality rates among people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, especially those living in congregate settings.
